Status of the Project

Key preparatory work for the Swissmetro project have been made with the main study and the reasearch based on numerical simulations. From a technical point of view, the Swissmetro project is so far advanced that the construction of a test track can begin in a very short time.

Because the money and the political will to set up a project of this magnitude are lacking at this point in time, Swissmetro is working on setting up a pilot trial in Hagerbach. At the same time, innovations that have been developed for Swissmetro are being put to market in other uses.
