Main Study

In 1998, after 4 years of work, an extensive study for Swissmetro was completed. The budget of approximately 18 million Swiss for the study francs was funded by the Swissmetro AG, the federal government and private companies. With the main study the technical and economic feasibility was confirmed, the traffic volume was estimated, the operational concept defined and network options were tested. The basis for the beginning of the industrial development has thus been created.
